Whisperings

1920

Lyrics

1st verse:
Honey I have something to tell you
And it's worth while listening to
Put your little head on my shoulder
So that I can whisper to you

Chorus:
Whispering while you cuddle near me,
Whispering so no one can hear me
Each little whisper seems to cheer me
I know it;s true
There's no one, dear, but you,
You're whispering why you'll never leave me
Whispering why you'll never grieve me
Whisper and say that you believe me
Whispering that I love you.

2nd verse:
When the twilight shadows are falling
And the weary world is at rest
Then I'll whisper just why I know dear
Loving time is always the best

From the Editor

From the Editor Sitting on the veranda, among pines and oaks, looking out at my apple, pear and cherry trees with a hot cup of coffee in my hands I gaze east into the Colorado Desert 4,000 feet below, east to the Butterfield Stage route, east to the Salton Sea 233 feet below sea level and further off the Colorado River and east . . . . . . east into America. I mused how this land, its early people the Kumeyaay and the Yuma, its mountain men, its settlers and present inhabits of America stories could be told. For here lays a great labyrinth of literary and visual culture. How to tell it? How to see it? As I sipped my coffee, I pondered how I could offer the emerging writers and artists a means so they could present their work to the reader and viewer while honing their craft. Ah, a fine literary and visual cultural publishing company … Mountain Tales Press. Whisperings magazine, an imprint of Mountain Tales Press, is a literary and visual cultural quarterly publication which brings to its discriminating worldwide readers works of international authors in the genres of flash literature (fiction, prose poetry, and vignette), fiction—folktales, legends, narrative, prose poetry, novelettes, short stories; nonfiction—memoir, essay and narrative; and poetic work—poetry, ekphrasis poetry, serial poetry and stories in verse [children’s poetry]; and works of international artists in the art genres of paintings, installation art, sculptures, photography, photographic essays and printmaking. Give us your writing . . . give us your art. Take us into your storytelling your adventure. The art of storytelling—voice, breathing, body, language, and all the human elements of communication that’s used in communicating ideas, messages, thoughts that is the soul of the writer . . . the artist. After you have spent hours, weeks, or months on your writing, on your artwork, finding a place for publication, a place for exhibition can seem like a daunting journey filled with twists, turns and steep climbs. Here at Mountain Tales Press we offer a place to hone your craft. We accept emerging and experience artist—writers and visual artists. We want writing and art that is original unpublished work which is sharp, relentless, coursing with energy and able to thrive in the harshest of places—the reader the viewer, all while maintaining a vulnerable, succulent interior.
